PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Roger Wabbit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Montana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Montana has chosen Push it to the Limit as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roger Wabbit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tony Montana!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wabbit gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Wabbit misses with some punches.
Wabbit holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Montana fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Wabbit lands a body punch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Wabbit.
Wabbit tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Montana's elbow.
Montana working hard to break the clinch.
A short uppercut from Wabbit.
Montana has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Wabbit avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Wabbit keeps control of Montana as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Montana is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Montana swings wildly with an uppercut but Wabbit uses good head movement to avoid it.
Wabbit lands a right hand that snaps the head of Montana backwards.
Wabbit lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
A nice left hand lands by Wabbit.
Wabbit working aggressively here.
Montana lands with a short shot to the head.
Wabbit pushes Montana back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wabbit lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Montana is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Wabbit gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Montana blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Wabbit is pushing Montana up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Wabbit misses with a hook from the clinch.
Montana wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Montana's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Wabbit has hold of one of Montana's legs. Montana is fighting the takedown attempt but Wabbit gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Wabbit has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Montana to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Wabbit is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Montana pulls down on the head and he's put Wabbit to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Tony Montana!
