PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fred Flintstone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Conan Howard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Howard has chosen Conan The Barbarian - Theme as his entrance music. Conan Howard will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howard tries to clinch but Flintstone moves out of range.
Flintstone could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

and Flintstone decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Howard's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Howard controls Flintstone momentarily but Flintstone frees himself.

Howard has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Flintstone is working away from the top position though.

Howard has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Flintstone can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Howard is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Flintstone is aware though and is defending well.
Howard looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Howard is looking for a triangle but Flintstone pushes his legs off easily.

Howard working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Flintstone doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Flintstone manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Flintstone is pushing down on Howard's leg trying to pass to half guard. Howard is fighting to maintain full guard but Flintstone has managed to sneak the leg through.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Howard looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Flintstone decides to stand back up.

Flintstone throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Howard was covering up waiting for the punch and Flintstone finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Howard has his foot on Flintstone's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Flintstone works his way back into a safe position though.

Flintstone got a little sloppy there for a moment and Howard has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Flintstone has managed to get both his arms back between Howard's legs - danger averted.
