Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Karl Grossman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luiz Soto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grossman's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The Devil's Rejects. Soto comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Busta Rhymes Feat Eminem - I'll Hurt You kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Luiz Soto!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, William Gold and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grossman misses with a straight right.
Grossman takes a swing at Soto's ribcage but misses.
Soto changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Grossman tries to avoid it but Soto manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Grossman to the ground. Grossman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Soto avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Soto is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Grossman's half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Grossman has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Soto manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Soto working his ground and pound in the gym.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Soto has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Grossman's face.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Grossman works Soto's body with a nice hook.
Grossman throws a shot from downtown. Soto moves away and avoids it.
Soto shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Soto on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Soto on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Grossman looks to throw the jab but Soto is out of range.
Soto connects with a body shot that sends Grossman's belly button to the back.
Soto tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Grossman manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Soto misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Soto.
Soto dives in for a single leg takedown but Grossman sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Soto is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Grossman to keep the fight standing.

Grossman's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
