Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Colby Hines!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renato Pereira!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Luis Engracia and Matheus Silva.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hines enables Pereira to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hines manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Pereira throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pereira accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hines is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pereira is aware though and is defending well.
Pereira looking to pass the guard.
Hines keeping moving, preventing Pereira from controlling successfully.
Hines really is a fat lump.
Pereira missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Pereira stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hines swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pereira trying to control but Hines is working from the bottom.
Pereira is working Hines over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Pereira slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hines tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pereira wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Hines sneaks back into half guard.
Pereira is trying to control. Hines wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Pereira not doing much here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hines wants to get back to full guard but Pereira has passed into side control.
Hines tries to buck Pereira off but Pereira is having none of it.
Hines knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pereira on the ground.
Pereira wants to control but Hines is keeping him busy.
Hines prevents Pereira from moving into mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pereira misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Pereira is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Hines is trying to escape and Pereira transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Hines is forced to tap! Nice work there by Pereira! Very nice indeed!
