Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jay Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Sanderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanderson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Radioactive-Imagine Dragons. Joey Sanderson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Pettis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joey Sanderson!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Steve Montenegro and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pettis misses with a series of wild punches.
Pettis takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Sanderson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Sanderson is looking for a kimura here.

Sanderson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pettis defends it well.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Sanderson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Sanderson stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Sanderson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Pettis, pushing him back against the cage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Sanderson creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Sanderson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sanderson connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Pettis momentarily.
Sanderson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pettis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Sanderson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pettis napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Pettis is trying to stand up here but Sanderson is controlling him well.
Sanderson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Pettis has hold of Sanderson's hands but Sanderson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Sanderson is nestled in close to Pettis, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sanderson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pettis but Pettis pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sanderson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pettis avoids it really well and circles away.
Sanderson tries to close the distance and clinch but Pettis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Joey Sanderson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sanderson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
