Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Will West!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Richard Clark and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
West dives in for a single leg takedown but Davis sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Davis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
West tries to score a power double leg takedown but Davis sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten West somewhat.
A jab from Davis misses.
Davis throws a hook but West avoids it easily.
West bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Davis enables West to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Davis manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
West wants to control from the top but Davis keeps moving.
West sitting in guard here, content to control.
West pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Davis is keeping the position for now.

West trying to control but Davis is working from the bottom.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Will West hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
West uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Davis clinches up against the cage.

West has Davis pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. West pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Davis tumbling to the mat - West dives into Davis's guard.
Davis can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as West controls the pace.
Davis is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
West tries to roll over but Davis keeps him under control.
Davis tries to stand and escape but West is controlling the position.
West preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
West tries to get to full guard but Davis has control of the leg.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
West is trying to maintain the position but Davis is very close to passing his half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
West wants to get back to full guard.
West is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
West is looking to control Davis's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can West avoid being mounted?

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Davis is looking to clinch but West is avoiding it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Davis goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Davis checks a low kick from West.
A nice inside leg kick there by West. That's going to slow Davis down.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from West, right into the meat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
West avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Davis ducks under a wild hook from West.
Davis takes a swing at West's ribcage but misses.
West misses with a low kick.
Davis stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Davis wants it to stay on the feet.
Phil Davis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Will West.
West moves out of range of the strikes.
West shoots in and drives through. Davis sprawls well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Davis moves in looking to clinch but West pushes him off.

West shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Davis napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Davis has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Davis controls the position for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Will West dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Davis ducks right into an uppercut from West.
Davis swings and misses with a shot to the body

so West counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

West drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Davis manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now West has Davis in his guard.
Davis has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of West is proving hard to escape from.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
West is adopting a defensive guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Will West.
West lands a lovely overhand right.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Davis fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt West.
West scores with a shot to the body.
West misses with a body shot.
West throws a hook but Davis blocks it.

West feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Davis's calf.
West's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Davis connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! West scrambles back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
West lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
West is trying hard to land a takedown here. Davis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
West moves away from the strike by Davis.
West fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Nice shot lands for Davis.
Davis misses with an uppercut.
Davis lands with a kick to the ribs.
West throws a leg kick but Davis sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Davis moves into the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
West is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Phil Davis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Will West.
Davis prevents a body shot from West.
West has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Davis is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
West is breathing heavily.

Davis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Davis throws out a loose jab but West uses good head movement to avoid it.

Davis moves into the clinch.
Davis is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Davis wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Davis blocks a punch to the side of the head.
West is looking to break free of the clinch but Davis has double underhooks.
West has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Davis after a bit of a struggle.
Davis prevents a takedown attempt there.
West is looking to take this one to the mat.
Davis is trying to break the clinch but West is controlling him.

Davis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
West blocks a head kick by Davis.
Phil Davis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nice straight punches there by Davis. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Davis.
West shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
West fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
West uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Davis.
West keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nice defenses there by West.
Davis dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Davis scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Davis goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Davis lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
West fails to land with a series of punches.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Davis fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. West looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
West shoots for a double leg takedown but Davis sprawls well. He's pushed West's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Davis lands with a nice combination. West backs away looking to recover.
West goes for a double leg but Davis avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Davis continues to drive forward.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Phil Davis dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Davis throws a nice inside leg kick.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Davis. West shrugs it off though.
West doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Davis counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Davis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Davis connects with the punch.
West on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.


West is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Davis stuns West with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
West is still on wobbly legs! Can Davis finish him?

Davis closes the distance and pushes West back into the cage.

Davis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
BOOM! Davis lands a beautiful left hook that drops West. West tries to recover but Davis is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and West lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Phil Davis!
