Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between LeRoy Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sawamura Kojo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Parker comes to the ring accompanied by My Sweet Revenge. Kojo has chosen The Whistler as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, LeRoy Parker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sawamura Kojo!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker connects with a right hand. Kojo shakes it off.
Nice straight punches there by Kojo. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Kojo.
Kojo swings for the body but Parker moves out of range.
Parker jabs Kojo right on the nose. Kojo blinks but takes it well.
Parker ducks under a wild hook from Kojo.
Kojo on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Parker gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Kojo.
Parker is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kojo.
Parker throws a hook but Kojo blocks it.
Parker is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Kojo loads up on a big right hand but Parker slips the punch.
LeRoy Parker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Parker throws a good cross that connects.
Kojo pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Parker is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kojo.
Parker takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kojo fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Parker looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Kojo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Kojo displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Parker throws out the jab.

Kojo lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Parker lands the left hand.
Kojo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Parker.

Parker closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kojo to the mat! Kojo manages to get full guard.
Kojo is trying to keep Parker in close.
Kojo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Parker with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Kojo wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Parker throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kojo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Parker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Kojo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Parker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

LeRoy Parker dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Kojo thows a body shot but no joy.
Kojo slips a jab from Parker.
Parker shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kojo but Kojo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Parker keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kojo.
Parker looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Parker lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Parker misses with an uppercut. Kojo saw that one coming.
Parker throws a hook to the side of Kojo's head but Kojo sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Parker closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Parker lands in his opponent's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Parker accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

LeRoy Parker overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Kojo lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Parker shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kojo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Parker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kojo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Parker is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Parker is working Kojo over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Parker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kojo is fighting to break Parker's control of his arms but Parker is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

LeRoy Parker is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Parker closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Kojo pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Parker is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Sawamura Kojo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Parker clobbers Kojo with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Parker thows a left - swing and a miss!
Kojo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kojo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Parker bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Parker remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Parker's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Parker, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
