Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Junior Sasi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hunter Risley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Junior Sasi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hunter Risley!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sasi misses with a left hand

and Risley counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Risley is trying to work for a kimura but Sasi is defending well.
Sasi wants to get back to his feet.
Risley trying to control the action but Sasi is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sasi is trying to stand up here but Risley is controlling him well.
Sasi on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sasi tries to get out of the position.

Risley looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Risley is keen to just control but Sasi is a slippery customer.

Risley tries to stand and escape but Sasi is controlling the position.
Risley has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Average Joes. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Sasi tries to kick Risley off but Risley keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Risley content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Sasi pushes Risley off and gets back to his feet.

Risley closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sasi did well to prevent Risley getting side control.

Sasi looks like he's trying to stand up.

Sasi has one foot on Risley's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Risley fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sasi, pushing him back against the cage.

Risley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Risley wants to clinch up but Sasi keeps it at a distance.
Risley shoots in and drives through. Sasi sprawls well.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Risley fails in his attempt to clinch.
Sasi misses with a takedown attempt - Risley sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Risley doesn't manage to clinch there - Sasi circles away.

Sasi gets a takedown into half guard.
Risley is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Risley wants to get back to his feet.
Risley is trying to get back to full guard.
Sasi lands strikes from half guard.
Risley trying to control here.

Sasi is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Sasi working over Risley with some ground and pound. Risley looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Sasi takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sasi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Risley's head.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sasi lands a nice short elbow.
Risley is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Risley moves into full guard.
Sasi wants to get up but he can't break Risley's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Hunter Risley will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


A shot to the body from Sasi misses
and Risley counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Sasi looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Risley taking some punishment here, with Sasi in his half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sasi connects with a nice short shot to Risley's temple.
Risley wants to get back to full guard.
Junior Sasi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Risley is trying to control but Sasi passes into side control!
Risley manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Risley is trying to get back to full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Risley avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Sasi.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sasi lands a nice short elbow.
Sasi throws a strike but Risley avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Risley is controlling Sasi's posture.
Sasi trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Risley is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sasi's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sasi's back!
Sasi is trying to get back to his feet but Risley has full control of the position and if anything, Sasi has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Sasi defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard.
Sasi throws a strike but Risley rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sasi wants to stand but Risley is controlling the position.
Risley pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sasi is keeping the position for now.
Risley throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Risley stops Sasi from standing up.

Risley trying to control the position from guard on top but Sasi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Risley won't allow Sasi to get back to his feet.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Sasi throws an off balance right hand
and Risley counters with a body kick.
Risley shoots in but no luck this time.

Risley has Sasi up against the cage in a clinch.

Risley breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sasi swings for the body but Risley moves out of range.
Risley misses with a takedown attempt - Sasi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Risley shoots in but no luck this time.
Junior Sasi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hunter Risley.
Risley ducks under a wild hook from Sasi.

Sasi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Sasi shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Sasi was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Risley sneaks out the side door and pushes Sasi away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Sasi is trying hard to land a takedown here. Risley sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Risley throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sasi tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Risley is in Sasi's guard.
Sasi wants to stand up but Risley is controlling him.
Risley must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Risley is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Sasi is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Risley presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Risley gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sasi.
Sasi drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Junior Sasi. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Risley manages to pull guard.
Risley looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sasi is one step ahead there.

Risley looking for subs off his back but Sasi has passed one foot through into half guard.

Risley is trying to stand back up but Sasi is controlling him
Risley has his hands clasped together around Sasi's back. He's all about the action.

Sasi throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Risley to regain full guard.
Risley has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Sasi throws a big right hand that misses.
Sasi works over Risley with some ground and pound from guard.
Risley lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sasi!
Sasi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Risley looking to secure an arm triangle but Sasi defends it well.

Sasi bucks up and throws Risley to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!

Sasi scores with a hook to the body. Risley takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Junior Sasi.
I think Sasi has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
