Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Doaine Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uruk Owraa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Doaine Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Uruk Owraa!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Jeff Smith and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Owraa moves into range and clinches up with Johnson.
Owraa has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Johnson after a bit of a struggle.
Owraa is looking for a takedown.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Johnson.
Owraa goes for a takedown in the clinch but Johnson prevents it.
Doaine Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Uruk Owraa.
Owraa drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Johnson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Owraa walks away with a smile on his face. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Johnson counters with a nice low kick that buckles Owraa's knee momentarily.

Owraa is trying to drag Johnson to the mat but Johnson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Johnson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Owraa defends it nicely.

Johnson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Owraa is fending him off so far but Johnson persists. Nope, Owraa circles away and we're back to standing.

Owraa slips a jab and a cross from Johnson.
Owraa defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Johnson.
Johnson is breathing heavily.

Owraa feints and as Johnson raises his hands in defense, Owraa changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Owraa lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Owraa cracks Johnson with a solid left hand.
Owraa is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Owraa would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Owraa has gone for a leg lock! Johnson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Owraa's guard.

Johnson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Doaine Johnson wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Johnson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Johnson there as he acknowledges the shot.

Owraa throws out a loose jab but Johnson uses good head movement to avoid it.

Johnson doesn't manage to clinch there - Owraa circles away.
Johnson dives in and grabs Owraa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Owraa pushes down on Johnson's head and hops out.

Owraa throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Uruk Owraa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Owraa swivels and escapes.

Johnson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Owraa creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Owraa changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Johnson fights it off and pushes away nicely.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Owraa fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Johnson to the ground. Owraa is now in Johnson's guard.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Owraa working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Owraa stands up and waves to Johnson to follow him.
Owraa's jab looks to have found its range, popping Johnson under the eye.
Owraa stuffs the takedown attempt from Johnson. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet.
Owraa uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Owraa wants to clinch.

Owraa tries to close the distance and clinch up but Johnson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Owraa might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Owraa lands an overhand right.
Owraa connects with a body shot that sends Johnson's belly button to the back.
Owraa lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Owraa drives through and clinches with Johnson against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Owraa tries to land knees in the clinch but Johnson avoids the damage to the body.
Johnson is trying to pull guard but Owraa has him pressed against the cage.

Owraa tightens his grip and picks Johnson up, before dumping him to the ground. Johnson manages to land in guard.
Owraa distracts Johnson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Owraa drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Owraa jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Owraa has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Johnson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Owraa's guard.

Doaine Johnson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Owraa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Johnson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Owraa tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Johnson throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Owraa's head.
Owraa misses with a two punch combination.
Johnson dives in and grabs Owraa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Owraa pushes down on Johnson's head and hops out.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Owraa decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Johnson's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Uruk Owraa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Johnson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Owraa sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Johnson somewhat.

Owraa manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Johnson on his heels. He'll look to pass Johnson's guard now, I'm sure.
Johnson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Owraa manages to get himself to full guard.
Uruk Owraa is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Owraa holds on and takes a little breather.

Well Owraa has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
