Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Katt Mamma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Viktor Kafka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kafka has chosen Welcome to the Jungle as his entrance music. Katt Mamma could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Viktor Kafka's chin.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 15 - 1, fighting out of New York, Viktor Kafka!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mamma fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Mamma shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Mamma was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Mamma is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kafka knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Kafka is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kafka regains half guard.
Kafka wants to control the action here but instead Mamma manages to pass to full mount!
Kafka is squirming around, avoiding Mamma's attempts to control the action.

Mamma is working for a guillotine from mount but Kafka frees his head quite easily.

Mamma is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kafka to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kafka shrugs it off.

Mamma looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Mamma swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Kafka is now in Mamma's guard. A big mistake from Mamma there, giving up the dominant position!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mamma isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Kafka stacks Mamma on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Kafka!

That was a close round but I would say that Katt Mamma will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Mamma chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kafka can pounce on him.

Mamma drives through and clinches with Kafka against the cage.

Kafka has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Mamma is trying to keep an underhook but Kafka manages to get the takedown into half guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Viktor Kafka hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Mamma avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Mamma tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Kafka misses with an attempted mid kick.
Kafka connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Mamma momentarily.

Mamma takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Mamma fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Mamma steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kafka.
Kafka finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Mamma dives in and grabs Kafka's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kafka pushes down on Mamma's head and hops out.
Mamma shoots in for a takedown but Kafka shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kafka scores with a jab to the body.
Kafka throws a quick inside leg kick.
Mamma has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Mamma there as he acknowledges the shot.
Mamma looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kafka is fending him off so far but Mamma persists. Nope, Kafka circles away and we're back to standing.

Mamma closes the distance and clinches up with Kafka, looking for a takedown. Mamma pushes Kafka against the cage but Kafka circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Kafka, right into the meat.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mamma.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kafka is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Mamma's shoulder. That is not cool.
Mamma wants to control but Kafka postures up.
Mamma is trying to improve his position.
Mamma is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Kafka off and has taken his back!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Mamma goes for a double leg but Kafka avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kafka continues to drive forward.
Kafka is pressed up against the cage. Mamma has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kafka down to the mat. Kafka avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Kafka ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That's time! Mamma's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Mamma throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Kafka escapes and throws Mamma's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Kafka stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kafka wants it to stay on the feet.

Mamma changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kafka looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Well Kafka has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
