Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simon Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson McGinley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGinley has chosen I got this as his entrance music. Anderson McGinley will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Simon Williams!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Anderson McGinley!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGinley throws a quick inside leg kick.
McGinley scores with a jab. Williams acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Williams darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Williams working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
This has been an exciting period of action!
McGinley controlling the position well.
Williams working over McGinley with some ground and pound. McGinley looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Williams thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed McGinley's head.
McGinley tries to kick Williams off but Williams keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Williams thows a huge punch but McGinley dodges it nicely.

McGinley wants to improve his position but Williams is controlling well.
Williams thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Williams winds up and cracks McGinley with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
McGinley told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

McGinley is not content to let Williams control the position.

Williams is nestled in close to McGinley, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Williams prevents McGinley from standing back up.

McGinley is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Williams scores with a couple of nice shots.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Williams lands a nice short elbow.
McGinley looks like he's trying to stand up.

McGinley keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Williams throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Williams sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. McGinley defending well though.
Williams definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
McGinley wants to get back to his feet.

Williams misses with a head shot. McGinley uses the momentum to regain guard.
McGinley trying to keep a closed guard but Williams is proving a slippery customer.

McGinley swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Williams throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Williams pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Williams throws a looping overhand right but McGinley ducks down to avoid it.
Williams walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. McGinley checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Williams keeps McGinley at a distance using the push kick.
Williams misses with an attempted mid kick.
An inside leg kick lands from Williams.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McGinley has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Williams finds it's way round the side to connect with McGinley's head.


It looks like Anderson McGinley has been cut.
Williams misses with an attempted mid kick.
Williams lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Williams scores with a shot to the body.
A head kick misses from Williams.
Williams thows a body kick. McGinley tries to catch it but that hurt him.
McGinley is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Williams fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
McGinley moves out of range of the strikes.
Williams is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that McGinley can do to turn this around?
McGinley blocks the body kick.
Williams throws a head kick that misses
and McGinley counters with a nice uppercut.
McGinley moves out of range as Williams throws a body kick.
Williams pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A looping hook to the body misses from Williams. McGinley does a little dance to reset his feet.
Williams throws a solid leg kick but McGinley takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Williams.
Williams shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McGinley sprawls well. McGinley wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Williams gets slowly back to his feet.
Williams throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

McGinley rushes Williams and presses him up against the cage.
A left hand lands to the body for Williams.

A head punch on the inside from Williams fails to land.
Williams lands a body punch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McGinley prevents a takedown attempt there.

Williams's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Williams throws a leg kick but McGinley sees it coming and moves out of range.
McGinley takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
McGinley looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Simon Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Williams wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
McGinley takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Williams pushes McGinley away with a front kick.
McGinley uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Williams.
McGinley moves out of range as Williams throws a body kick.
McGinley looks to land a right hand but Williams moved out of range.
Simon Williams is winning the standup battle so far.
Williams throws a half hearted mid kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McGinley looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.


That has opened up Anderson McGinley's cut even more.
Williams throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
McGinley drops his hands momentarily. Williams doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. McGinley staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. McGinley doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Simon Williams!

An intense looking Simon Williams took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'I was going to retire but then I heard about this little punk talking crap about retiring me so I decided to fight again. Even when I am old and depopped you are not even in the same league boy. Dont forget it.'.
