PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between AJ KO (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Gunner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, AJ KO!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Thomas Gunner!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunner throws a sloppy head kick and KO moves out of range easily.

KO ducks under a wild hook from Gunner.
Gunner feints a jab promting KO to slip. Gunner then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. KO slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


It looks like AJ KO has been cut.
The fight stays on the outside here - KO looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

KO drives through with a takedown into guard.

KO will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gunner will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

KO seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gunner does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

KO tries to free his leg and advance position but Gunner is retaining full guard.

KO slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gunner bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in KO's guard.
KO seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

KO on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if KO tries to get out of the position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gunner connects with a nice short shot to KO's temple.

Gunner is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so KO is just riding it out for now. Gunner eventually gives up the hold.

Gunner is looking for a kimura but KO is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gunner to get the leverage.

Gunner seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. KO is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
