Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vladimir Nikolaev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Konrad Hielscher!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Columbo Gatti and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hielscher scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Nikolaev tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
We've been hearing reports that Nikolaev has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Nikolaev jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hielscher walks away with a smile on his face. Nikolaev gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hielscher enables Nikolaev to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hielscher manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Nikolaev is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hielscher is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hielscher has escaped and now he's on top!

Hielscher stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hielscher wants it to stay on the feet.

Hielscher shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Nikolaev eats them both and turns towards Hielscher to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

I've got Hielscher winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
