PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Terry Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Merle Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Terry Black!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Merle Walker!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Black's waist but Black gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Walker off to one side.
Walker swings widly with a right hand
and Black counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Walker shoots in and drives through. Black sprawls well.
Walker dives in and grabs Black's left leg, looking for a takedown. Black pushes down on Walker's head and hops out.
Terry Black has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Merle Walker.
Black tries to close the distance and clinch up but Walker swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Walker misses with an uppercut

and Black counters by moving into the clinch.
Black really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Walker tries to pull guard but Black won't allow it.
Walker jumps guard but Black stands there with Walker around his waist. Walker gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Black wants the takedown. Walker is fighting it off but Black persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Walker's guard against the cage.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Walker is looking for a triangle but Black pushes his legs off easily.
Black trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Walker is looking to cinch up a triangle. Black throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Walker's body to avoid the submission. Walker has instead reached around Black's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Walker arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Merle Walker!
