Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brenton Sharp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Steve Huber!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sharp slips a jab and a cross from Huber.
Sharp takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Huber tries to close the distance and clinch but Sharp swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Huber displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sharp.

Sharp manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Huber on his heels. He'll look to pass Huber's guard now, I'm sure.

Huber wants to get back to his feet but Sharp is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Brenton Sharp.

Sharp really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Sharp gets the takedown into side control.
Huber is looking to reverse the position.
Huber is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Sharp is controlling him well.
Huber tries to improve position but can't.
Sharp wants to lay and pray for a moment but Huber keeps working.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Sharp shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Huber sprawls well. Huber wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sharp gets slowly back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Sharp tries to clinch there but Huber circles away.

Huber shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Sharp eats them both and turns towards Huber to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Sharp darts in looking for a takedown but Huber gets double underhooks and turns Sharp into the cage.

Sharp throws a right hand that Huber ducks under and follows up with a left that Huber also avoids with ease.

Sharp closes the distance and clinches up with Huber, looking for a takedown. Sharp pushes Huber against the cage but Huber circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Huber uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sharp.
Sharp shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Huber throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Steve Huber is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Sharp tries to close the distance and clinch up but Huber swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Huber goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Sharp dives in and grabs Huber's left leg, looking for a takedown. Huber pushes down on Sharp's head and hops out.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Huber misses with a few strikes there.
Sharp fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Huber avoids it really well and circles away.
Sharp changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Huber tries to avoid it but Sharp manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Huber to the ground. Huber escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Steve Huber seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Sharp looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Huber will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Huber throws a right and a left that Sharp avoids nicely.
Huber circles away from the clinch attempt

and Huber moves into the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steve Huber showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Huber stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Huber wants it to stay on the feet.
Huber misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sharp dodges the punch combination from Huber.
Huber lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sharp circles away quickly and effectively.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sharp shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Sharp was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Huber sneaks back into half guard.
Huber looks like he's trying to stand up.
Still in half guard, Sharp seems content to control.

Huber has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Sharp is on him like a limpet, forcing Huber back against the cage.
Huber tries to break the clinch but Sharp is controlling the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
A frustrated look appears on Huber's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Huber is trying to break free.
Sharp keeps control of Huber as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Sharp is trying to pull guard but Huber turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

I would just about give that final round to Steve Huber.
I think Huber has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
