Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Dragon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Belfort comes to the cage accompanied by Brazilian War Drums. Steve Dragon acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thiago Belfort!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Steve Dragon!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dragon throws a body punch but Belfort moves out of range.
Dragon swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Dragon missing with a left hand there. Belfort was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Belfort misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Belfort moves forwards but Dragon connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Belfort changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Belfort tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Belfort is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Dragon drops Belfort with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Belfort looks back up at him and smiles so Dragon waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Belfort is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dragon wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Belfort is breathing heavily.
Belfort misses with a straight right.
Dragon throws a lazy right hand but Belfort sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Dragon gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Dragon misses with a shot to the kidneys.
A body shot lands from Dragon.

Dragon drops Belfort onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Belfort is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Oh Belfort is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dragon creates some distance for himselfand unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Belfort's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Belfort drops to his knees and Dragon pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Steve Dragon!
Steve Dragon is the new heavyweight champion!
After the fight, Steve Dragon was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
