The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy slips a jab and a cross from Shilo.
A slow jab from Hardy misses its intended target.

Nice defenses there by Shilo.

Hardy's coach down at Team Hopkins was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hardy's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Hardy tries to land a leg kick but Shilo saw it coming and moves away.

Shilo doesn't manage to clinch there - Hardy circles away.
Hardy shoots in for a double leg but Shilo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Hardy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Shilo misses with a straight left.

Hardy feints and as Shilo raises his hands in defense, Hardy changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hardy postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Shilo has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hardy is just content to waste time from the top position. Shilo takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hardy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hardy connects with a couple of short punches.

Hardy chips away with some ground and pound.
Hardy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Shilo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hardy wants to control from the top but Shilo keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hardy wants to pass the guard but Shilo is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shilo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hardy manages to avoid it.
Shilo throws a jab but it's blocked by Hardy.

and Hardy counters with a series of strikes. Shilo will be more careful next time no doubt.
Shilo lands a really nice looking cross but Hardy seems unphased.
Hardy lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Shilo goes down and covers up as Hardy starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
