PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Les Sobrante (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Artur Hawkwing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sobrante comes into the arena with Primus - Fisticuffs blaring out of the sound system. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Artur Hawkwing was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sobrante misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hawkwing steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sobrante.
Hawkwing looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sobrante is fending him off so far but Hawkwing persists. Nope, Sobrante circles away and we're back to standing.
Sobrante swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hawkwing shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sobrante defends it nicely.
Sobrante fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hawkwing has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Sobrante lands with a nice combination. Hawkwing backs away looking to recover.
Hawkwing has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Sobrante.
Hawkwing goes for a double leg but Sobrante avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sobrante continues to drive forward.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sobrante is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Hawkwing to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Hawkwing shrugs it off.

Sobrante is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Hawkwing is defending well though. Sobrante let's go of the attempt for now.

Sobrante is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hawkwing is just riding it out for now. Sobrante eventually gives up the hold.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hawkwing is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Sobrante has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Hawkwing is looking to defend but Sobrante has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Hawkwing! Sobrante pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Hawkwing taps out and this one is all over!
