Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Briggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Meyer Lansky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bobby Briggs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Meyer Lansky!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jorge Garcia and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lansky lands a nice hook to Briggs's body. Briggs takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Briggs darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Lansky is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Lansky has his hands clasped together around Briggs's back. He's all about the action.
Briggs not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nice strikes from Briggs there.
Briggs throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Lansky is trying to maintain the position but Briggs is very close to passing his half guard.
Briggs throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Briggs missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Briggs trying to mount his opponent but Lansky defends it.
Lansky tries to kick Briggs off but Briggs keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Briggs missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Briggs wants to advance to full mount but Lansky doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Lansky is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Lansky seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Briggs gets back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Briggs throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Lansky being controlled here momentarily.
Briggs has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Briggs wants to stand and escape but Lansky is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Briggs shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lansky manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lansky wants to get back to his feet but Briggs is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Briggs throws an elbow that misses. Lansky uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Briggs's guard. Nice move by Lansky!
Briggs tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Briggs pulls Lansky in close to prevent any damage.
Briggs wants to sweep here but Lansky controlling him for the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lansky trying to stand up but can't free himself from Briggs's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Lansky throws a hook to the side of Briggs's head but Briggs sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Briggs closes the distance and clinches up with Lansky, looking for a takedown. Briggs pushes Lansky against the cage but Lansky circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Briggs walks into a jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lansky lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Briggs gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Lansky counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Lansky moves in looking to clinch but Briggs pushes him off.
Lansky tries to close the distance and clinch but Briggs swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Meyer Lansky is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Briggs moves out of range of the strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bobby Briggs will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Briggs shoots in but Lansky avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Lansky stuffs the takedown attempt from Briggs. Briggs gets slowly back to his feet.
Briggs with a lazy takedown attempt
and Lansky counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby Briggs. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Briggs shoots for a double leg takedown but Lansky sprawls well. He's pushed Briggs's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Lansky defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Briggs.
Lansky connects with a nice looking jab.
Briggs has been working on his balance at Rock-A-Fella Fight Club [10 ELITE!!], so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Lansky.
Lansky scores with a decent looking hook.
Lansky swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lansky scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Briggs looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lansky is fending him off so far but Briggs persists. Nope, Lansky circles away and we're back to standing.
Briggs looks for a takedown but Lansky sprawls well.
Lansky lands with an uppercut that bounces Briggs off the cage and back into range.


It looks like Bobby Briggs has been cut.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Lansky lands a nice shot to the body.
Lansky lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Lansky throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Briggs on the side of the head.
Bobby Briggs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lansky changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Briggs takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Lansky digs a good body shot into Briggs's ribs.
Briggs takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lansky lands with a hook. Briggs tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Lansky clinches up with Briggs and pushes him back against the cage.
A short uppercut from Lansky.
Lansky lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
A right handed body shot lands from Lansky.
Lansky lands with a light punch inside.
Still in the clinch, Lansky scores with a nice short uppercut.


Briggs is rocked!
Lansky unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Briggs! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Lansky is unloading with more strikes now! Briggs drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Meyer Lansky!
