Menezes comes to the cage accompanied by Charlinho, o menino que só queria estudar - Hermes & Renato. Tango is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Super Bon Bon - Soul Coughing. Wango Tango will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Menezes throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

I was talking to Menezes's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Tango breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The fight stays on the outside here - Tango looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Tango jabs Menezes right on the nose. Menezes blinks but takes it well.

Menezes throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Menezes swats away the attempt to clinch by Tango.

We've been informed that Tango has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Menezes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Tango counters with a nice right hand that sends Menezes toppling to the canvas! Menezes scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Tango finish him?!

Tango has closed the distance and engaged Menezes in a clinch.
