PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sebastien Chabal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rolf Karlsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rolf Karlsson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sebastien Chabal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rolf Karlsson!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karlsson misses with a straight right.

Chabal gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Chabal tries to score a body lock takedown but Karlsson shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Chabal is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Karlsson gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Karlsson manages to break the clinch.
Chabal goes for a double leg but Karlsson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as Karlsson continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sebastien Chabal. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Karlsson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Karlsson scores with a jab to the head.

It looks like Sebastien Chabal has been cut.
Chabal looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Chabal walks into a stiff left hand from Karlsson.
Karlsson throws a quick inside leg kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Karlsson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Chabal shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Karlsson pinned against the ropes. Karlsson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Chabal is breathing heavily.
Karlsson lands a slapping body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Karlsson connects with a single shot there.
Chabal tries for a takedown but Karlsson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Karlsson has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Chabal is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Karlsson changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Chabal is trying hard to land a takedown here. Karlsson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Rolf Karlsson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Chabal doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Karlsson lands a leg kick that knocks Chabal off balance momentarily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Karlsson cracks Chabal with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Karlsson has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Chabal to stand back up!

Chabal is rocked!
Karlsson lands an uppercut, right on the button! Chabal tumbles backwards into the ropes, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
