Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lesley Fletcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joao Simoes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fletcher tries to close the distance and clinch but Simoes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Fletcher gets a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fletcher wants to take a breather but Simoes is having none of it.

Simoes looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Fletcher is pressing down on Simoes's thigh, looking to free his foot. Simoes is holding on for now.
Fletcher could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Simoes tries to kick Fletcher off but Fletcher keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Fletcher is trying to work for a kimura but Simoes is defending well.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Fletcher in particular looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fletcher has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Simoes defend it? Fletcher steps over the head and cranks it - Simoes is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Fletcher!
