Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Major Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rogerio Nogues (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nogues has chosen Eminem- You Don't Know as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rogerio Nogues has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Major Pain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rogerio Nogues!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Anthony Taglia and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Pain. Those never looked like landing.
Nogues shoots and misses
and Pain counters with a leg kick.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Nogues.

Pain gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Pain not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Nogues trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Pain looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nogues is one step ahead there.
Pain keeping moving, preventing Nogues from controlling successfully.

Pain closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Nogues's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nogues pulls Pain in close to his closed guard and prevents Pain from doing any damage or advancing position.
Pain tries to free his leg and advance position but Nogues is retaining full guard.
Nogues wants to sweep here but Pain controlling him for the moment.

Pain closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pain lands in his opponent's guard.
Nogues is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We've been informed that Nogues has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Nogues jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Pain manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Nogues wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pain keeps working.

Nogues is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pain has escaped the position, nice work there.
Pain is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Pain is not content to let Nogues control the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pain holds on to Nogues's head and controls the position momentarily.

That was a close second round but I would say that Major Pain will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Pain tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Nogues dives in and grabs Pain's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pain pushes down on Nogues's head and hops out.
Nogues has a takedown stuffed.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Nogues.
Major Pain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rogerio Nogues.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Nogues is defended easily by Pain.

Pain closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Pain slips a nice elbow through Nogues's hands, connecting with Nogues's forehead.
Nogues moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Nogues is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Nogues takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Pain postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Nogues is trying to keep Pain in close.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Nogues goes for a double leg but Pain avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Pain continues to drive forward.

Pain escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pain shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Nogues eats them both and turns towards Pain to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Pain fails in his attempt to clinch.
Pain defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Nogues.

Nogues tries to sprawl but Pain drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nogues slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Nogues is adopting a defensive guard.

Let's hope that Nogues has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Nogues looking for a guillotine here but Pain defends easily.
Nogues wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Pain looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Nogues!

I would just about give that final round to Rogerio Nogues.
