Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Breneman!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Breneman manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

James has closed the distance and engaged Breneman in a clinch.
A right handed body shot lands from James.
With the fighters up against the cage, James throws an elbow but misses.
James with an attempt at a knee that misses.
James creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

James tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Breneman avoids it.
Breneman has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. James seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Breneman can turn it around.

Breneman gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Breneman winds up and cracks James with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Breneman is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for James!
James sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
James is trying to stand back up but Breneman is controlling him

This has been an exciting period of action!

James wants to stand and escape but Breneman is having none of it.

Breneman works a leg free and moves into half guard.
We've been hearing good reports from James's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Breneman is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
James wants to control but Breneman is keeping him busy.
James passes to side control.
Breneman is holding James down, trying to stall.
Breneman is looking for a sweep.

James tries for a kimura but Breneman is defending well.
Breneman is looking to regain half guard here but James keeps moving and retains side control.

James wants to stand but Breneman has his arm trapped.

James goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Breneman has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for James but great work by Breneman.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
James is trying to get back to half guard.
James manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Breneman lands a nice short elbow.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
James wants to improve his position but Breneman is controlling well.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Breneman wants to control but James is keeping him busy.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Breneman in particular looking to stall.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jimmy James dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


James throws a leg kick which misses Breneman's front leg but catches the back leg as Breneman tries to avoid it.
James dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Breneman. That did some damage!
Breneman takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Adam Breneman has been cut.

James fails in his attempt to clinch.
James jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Breneman takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Breneman shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in James's guard.

Breneman is posturing up here but James has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Breneman tries to roll out but it's too tight and Breneman has to tap! Slick submission there by James!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jimmy James!
