Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Delmar Robbins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, LJ Tibbs!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Bruno Lombardi and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tibbs misses with a low kick as Robbins jumps back.

Tibbs closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Robbins to the mat! Robbins manages to get full guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Robbins controls Tibbs momentarily but Tibbs frees himself.
Tibbs trying to control but Robbins is working from the bottom.
Robbins keeping full guard, as Tibbs tries to pass.
Tibbs trying to control the position from guard on top but Robbins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Tibbs stands up and waves to Robbins to follow him.
Robbins lands the left hand.

Robbins tries to clinch up but Tibbs circles away and keeps his distance.

Tibbs fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Robbins sprawls well initially but Tibbs persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Well, if Tibbs is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Robbins wants to get back to his feet.
Tibbs with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. LJ Tibbs wasn't active enough on the ground.
Robbins tries to clinch up but Tibbs circles away and keeps his distance.

Tibbs fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Robbins sprawls well initially but Tibbs persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Robbins darts in and clinches Tibbs up against the cage.
Robbins trying to control the position but instead, Tibbs has worked for underhooks and has pushed Robbins into the cage.
Robbins tries to pull guard but Tibbs forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Tibbs wants to get back to striking at distance but Robbins won't allow it.

Tibbs fails to pull guard.
Tibbs has a couple of punches blocked by Robbins.
Robbins goes for a takedown attempt but Tibbs pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Tibbs tries to land a leg kick but Robbins saw it coming and moves away.
Tibbs avoids the head kick by Robbins.
No luck for Robbins with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Delmar Robbins. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Robbins tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tibbs sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Robbins somewhat.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Tibbs lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Robbins circles away quickly and effectively.

Robbins is refusing to be controlled, as Tibbs sits in half guard.
Tibbs winds up and cracks Robbins with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Tibbs is taking a breather. Robbins says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Tibbs is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Robbins has managed to free his arm - good work.

Tibbs tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Robbins.
Robbins is refusing to be controlled, as Tibbs sits in half guard.
LJ Tibbs has got the better of the ground game so far.

Robbins is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Tibbs pulls his head out easily.

Tibbs is trying to control. Robbins wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Tibbs throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Tibbs is pressing down on Robbins's thigh, looking to free his foot. Robbins is holding on for now.
Tibbs lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Tibbs missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Robbins really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Tibbs is trying to control. Robbins wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

LJ Tibbs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Robbins tries to keep at a distance but Tibbs has taken the fight into the clinch.
Robbins is trying to pull guard but Tibbs turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Tibbs wants to take the fight to the mat but Robbins manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Robbins is looking to break free of the clinch but Tibbs has double underhooks.

Robbins has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Tibbs avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Robbins swats away the attempt to clinch by Tibbs.
Tibbs fails to land the takedown.

Robbins looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tibbs is fending him off so far but Robbins persists. Nope, Tibbs circles away and we're back to standing.

Robbins wriggles free and stands up.

Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Robbins is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Robbins jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tibbs walks away with a smile on his face. Robbins gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Tibbs scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tibbs decides to stand up, so the ref orders Robbins to his feet.

Robbins is staying active underneath Tibbs, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Tibbs is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Robbins defends it well.
Robbins wants to control but Tibbs is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Tibbs is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Tibbs perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by LJ Tibbs.

Robbins wants to break the clinch but can't.
Tibbs throws an elbow but it misses.
Tibbs is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tibbs is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Robbins is defending well.

LJ Tibbs comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Tibbs has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
