The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fuentes wants to clinch up but Anderson keeps it at a distance.

Anderson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Anderson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Fuentes doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Anderson.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Anderson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Fuentes is now in Anderson's guard. A big mistake from Anderson there, giving up the dominant position!

Fuentes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Anderson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Fuentes is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Anderson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Fuentes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Fuentes is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Anderson asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Anderson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fuentes keeps working.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Anderson shoots in looking for a takedown. Fuentes tries to sprawl out of it but Anderson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fuentes manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fuentes shoots for a double leg takedown but Anderson sprawls well. He's pushed Fuentes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Anderson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fuentes avoids it really well and circles away.

Anderson closes the distance and clinches.

Jessie Fuentes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Erick Anderson.

Anderson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Fuentes regains guard immediately.
