Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Glen Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rau Utu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis comes to the cage accompanied by Celtics. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Utu.

It looks like Glen Davis has been cut.
Davis chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Utu can pounce on him.
Utu bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Davis's head backwards.

Davis shoots in looking for a takedown but Utu manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Davis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Utu turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Utu lands a big head kick that sends Davis tumbling to the mat! Utu takes a step backwards and waves Davis back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Davis shoots in looking for a takedown. Utu tries to sprawl out of it but Davis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Utu manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Davis shoots in but no luck this time.
Utu fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Davis on the side of the head.
Utu swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Davis.
Davis takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Glen Davis's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Nice uppercut lands for Utu. That snapped Davis's head back.
Davis fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Utu checks it well.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Utu feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Davis sprawling to the canvas! Davis rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Utu finish him?!

Davis is rocked!

Jeez, Glen Davis's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Glen Davis's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Rau Utu was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
