Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sepp Maier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Leighty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Maier might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Apaga mas não bate. Leighty has chosen Cowboy Dan as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maier shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Leighty pinned against the cage. Leighty gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Leighty scores with a hook to the body. Maier takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

I was talking to Maier's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Maier is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Leighty gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Maier feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Maier stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Leighty swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Leighty escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Maier gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
