Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daryl Browning!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jon Pettis!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pettis throws a right hand that Browning ducks under and follows up with a left that Browning also avoids with ease.

Browning moves into the clinch.
The referee calls for Browning to work.
Pettis prevents a takedown attempt there.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Browning displaying some good clinch control by pressing Pettis up against the cage.

Pettis drags the fight down to the ground.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Browning postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Pettis striking off his back but it's not causing Browning any problems.
Browning controlling from the top position.
Pettis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

A solid leg kick lands there for Pettis.
Pettis shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Browning as he avoids it easily.
Pettis shoots in looking for a takedown but Browning manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pettis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Browning will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Pettis thumps Browning with a low kick.
Browning is breathing heavily.

Pettis moves into the clinch.
Pettis is pressed up against the cage. Browning has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Pettis down to the mat. Pettis avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Pettis tries to clinch up but Browning circles away and keeps his distance.

Pettis closes the distance and clinches.
Browning jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pettis walks away with a smile on his face. Browning gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Browning throws a head kick but Pettis moves out of range.
Browning blocks a head kick by Pettis.

Pettis closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Pettis wants to take a breather but Browning is having none of it.
Pettis wants to stand up but Browning has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Pettis is looking to take a break and control but Browning is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Browning slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Pettis wants to stand but Browning is controlling his posture from full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pettis trying to control the position from guard on top but Browning is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Pettis closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Browning did well to prevent Pettis getting side control.

Pettis wanted to stand there but Browning had control of the position.
Pettis wants to control from the top but Browning keeps moving.
Browning will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Browning has his foot on Pettis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pettis works his way back into a safe position though.
Pettis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Pettis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

That was a close second round but I would say that Daryl Browning will probably get the nod.

Browning seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pettis for as long as he can get away with.
Browning won't let Pettis get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
