Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between King Ahkenaton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Stann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ahkenaton comes to the cage accompanied by Sweet Taste of India. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stann connects with a looping right hand.
Ahkenaton lands with a nice body punch.
Ahkenaton swings for the body but Stann moves out of range.

Stann tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ahkenaton was well out of range. Poor timing from Stann.
Stann tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ahkenaton swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ahkenaton is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Stann.
Ahkenaton throws a nice looking combination but Stann bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ahkenaton lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ahkenaton .

Stann tries to move into range but Ahkenaton moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stann throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Ahkenaton 's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Stann dives in looking to finish as Ahkenaton flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Stann's strikes! Stann is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Ahkenaton 's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Ahkenaton was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
