Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Efren Charles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shin Kazama!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paulsen Ambrosius and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kazama displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Charles.
Charles tries to clinch up but Kazama circles away and keeps his distance.
Charles throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kazama's waist but Kazama gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Charles off to one side.
Kazama shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Charles sprawls well. Charles wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kazama gets slowly back to his feet.
Kazama shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Charles pinned against the cage. Charles gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kazama looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Charles is fending him off so far but Kazama persists. Nope, Charles circles away and we're back to standing.
Efren Charles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shin Kazama.
Kazama shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Charles sprawls well. Charles wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kazama gets slowly back to his feet.
Kazama tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Charles swivels and escapes.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Charles fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kazama, pushing him back against the cage.

Kazama tightens his grip and picks Charles up, before dumping him to the ground. Charles manages to land in guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Charles has his hands on Kazama's head, controlling the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Charles is on top in guard.
Kazama is looking to sweep but instead, Charles has passed into half guard.
Kazama trying to hold on to Charles's head to control him but Charles postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kazama regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Charles.

Kazama is looking for a triangle but Charles pushes his legs off easily.
Charles is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Charles knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kazama on the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Charles looking to pass the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kazama is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Charles avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Charles has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Charles looking to sit in guard and control but Kazama gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Charles tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Charles wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Kazama is now in half guard.
Kazama with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Kazama is trying to work for a kimura but Charles is defending well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kazama is looking to advance position but Charles won't allow it.
Kazama trying to control the action but Charles is working from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shin Kazama dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Charles has his takedown stuffed

and Kazama counters with a nice double leg into side control. Charles won't be happy with that.
Charles is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Kazama is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Charles looks calm but he's in trouble here. Kazama gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Charles is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Kazama lets go of the hold and Charles can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Shin Kazama!
