Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lorenzo Small (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Gummidge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brian Gummidge has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Lorenzo Small!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Brian Gummidge!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gummidge keeps the fight on the outside.

Gummidge moves into the clinch successfully.
Small is pushing Gummidge up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Small goes for a takedown in the clinch but Gummidge prevents it.

Small decides to pull guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Gummidge engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Small is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Gummidge trying to control but Small is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Brian Gummidge was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Small feints and as Gummidge raises his hands in defense, Small changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Gummidge has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Small is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Gummidge.
Gummidge is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
A lull in the action here as Small stalls from top position.
Small really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Lorenzo Small wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Gummidge closes the distance and clinches up with Small, looking for a takedown. Gummidge pushes Small against the cage but Small circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Gummidge fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Small to the ground. Gummidge is now in Small's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Small scrambles and gets back to his feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Small throws a sloppy head kick and Gummidge moves out of range easily.

Small closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Small lands in his opponent's guard.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gummidge is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Small has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gummidge uses from the top position.

Small shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gummidge as he avoids it easily.

Brian Gummidge showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Gummidge throws a right hand that Small ducks under and follows up with a left that Small also avoids with ease.
Small throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Gummidge rushes Small and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Small drives through with a takedown into Gummidge's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Gummidge working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Small doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Small manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Small will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Small lands a couple of good shots and Gummidge has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Small has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Gummidge! Can he survive? No! He's out! Small gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
