PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bill Clinton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergio Melo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clinton comes to the cage accompanied by Break Ya Neck. Melo is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Go To Sleep by Eminem. On his way into the cage it seems that Bill Clinton has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Bill Clinton seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bill Clinton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sergio Melo!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clinton shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Melo sprawls well. Melo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Clinton gets slowly back to his feet.

We've been informed that Melo has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Clinton misses with a looping right.
Clinton fails to land with a series of punches.
Melo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Clinton.
A solid leg kick lands there for Melo.
Clinton tries for a takedown but Melo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Clinton postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Melo is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Clinton, into his guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Melo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Clinton swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Sergio Melo was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Melo takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Melo gets tackled into the cage by Clinton. Clinton maintains the clinch.

Clinton is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Melo misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Melo is pressed up against the cage. Clinton has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Melo down to the mat. Melo avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Sergio Melo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Clinton shoots in and drives through. Melo sprawls well.

Clinton fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Melo manages to avoid it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

A big shot lands for Clinton! That's hurt Melo! Will he recover? Clinton fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
