Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jon Richard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marek Horak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horak shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Richard as he avoids it easily.
Horak fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Richard avoids it really well and circles away.
Richard tries a head kick but it misses.
Horak swinging wildly here.
Richard shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Horak defends it nicely.
Horak throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Richard counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Horak breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Richard tries to clinch up.

Horak fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Richard, pushing him back against the cage.

Horak escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Richard looks to land a right hand but Horak moved out of range.
Horak shoots in but no luck this time.
Jon Richard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marek Horak.

Richard throws a lazy head kick
and Horak cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Horak throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Richard's waist but Richard gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Horak off to one side.

Richard shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Horak as he jumps to the side.
Horak lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Horrible takedown by Horak or perhaps it was just good defense by Richard which made him look bad.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Richard is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Horak to keep the fight standing.

Richard tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Horak smiles and moves away.

Horak shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Richard eats them both and turns towards Horak to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Horak rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Richard moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Richard displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Horak.

and Horak counters with a head kick. That will keep Richard thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Richard closes the distance and pushes Horak back into the cage.
Come on Horak - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Richard is looking to take this one to the mat.
Horak makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Richard blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Horak manages to break the clinch.
Richard closes this distance looking for a takedown but Horak circles away.

Horak moves into range and clinches up with Richard.
Horak changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Richard fights it off and pushes away nicely.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
