Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trent Duncan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taekdown Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trent Duncan looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Trent Duncan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Taekdown Lee!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Duncan drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Lee wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Taekdown Lee has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Duncan misses with an uppercut. Lee saw that one coming.

Duncan is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lee's half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lee wants to control but Duncan is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Lee is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Duncan really is a fat lump.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Duncan performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Taekdown Lee wasn't active enough on the ground.
Duncan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Duncan fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lee to the ground. Duncan is now in Lee's guard.
Lee is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Taekdown Lee was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Duncan has managed to clinch.

Duncan breaks from the clinch.

Duncan gets a takedown into half guard.
Duncan is breathing heavily.
Lee is trying to maintain the position but Duncan is very close to passing his half guard.
Lee holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Lee moves into full guard.
Lee has his hands on Duncan's head, controlling the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Taekdown Lee hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Duncan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lee looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Trent Duncan will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Lee wants to control but Duncan is keeping busy.
Lee has his hands clasped together around Duncan's back. He's all about the action.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Lee is not content to let Duncan control the position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Taekdown Lee wasn't active enough on the ground.

Duncan looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lee preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Lee is trying is best to control the position here.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Taekdown Lee.
Duncan tries to land a front kick but Lee steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Duncan closes the distance and clinches.
Come on Duncan - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Lee drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Duncan gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Duncan stalling against the cage.
Duncan gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Lee.

Duncan gets control of Lee's arms and successfully pulls guard. Duncan will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Duncan wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Lee is now in half guard.
Duncan is looking for a sweep. Lee is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Lee is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Duncan defends it well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lee moves nicely into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Trent Duncan will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Duncan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lee is trying to defend but Duncan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Lee has his hands clasped together around Duncan's back. He's all about the action.
Lee's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Taekdown Lee hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Duncan scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Lee keeping his opponent close.
Lee can't do much from the bottom here.

Duncan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lee keeps working.
Duncan throws a strike aimed at the side of Lee's head but Lee avoids it well.
Lee wants to control but Duncan postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Taekdown Lee.

Duncan closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lee did well to prevent Duncan getting side control.

Duncan throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Lee to regain full guard.
Duncan is fighting to break Lee's control of his arms but Lee is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Duncan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Taekdown Lee.

Duncan closes the distance and pushes Lee back into the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lee drops down looking for an ankle pick but Duncan pulls his leg out and moves away.
Trent Duncan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Duncan has managed to clinch.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Trent Duncan.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Duncan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
