Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clifton Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gustavo Fring (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fring comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Frogacult - No rush kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The key to victory for Clifton Barnes has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Clifton Barnes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Gustavo Fring!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Sam Margolis and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes throws a jab but it's blocked by Fring.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fring is defended easily by Barnes.
Fring gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Barnes makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Fring moves in looking to clinch but Barnes pushes him off.
Gustavo Fring seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fring closes the distance and clinches up with Barnes, looking for a takedown. Fring pushes Barnes against the cage but Barnes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Clifton Barnes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gustavo Fring.
Barnes swats away the attempt to clinch by Fring.
Fring dives in for a single leg takedown but Barnes sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Barnes stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Fring is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Barnes can't fight it off and eventually Fring manages to take the fight to the floor. Barnes looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Fring wants to stand and escape but instead Barnes has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Barnes cracks Fring with a solid left hand.
Barnes won't allow Fring to sweep him here.
Fring is looking to sweep but instead, Barnes has passed into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fring won't allow Barnes to pass to mount.
Barnes not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Fring manages to get to full guard.

Barnes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fring has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Barnes has managed to get both his arms back between Fring's legs - danger averted.
Barnes throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Barnes trying to stand up but can't free himself from Fring's guard.

Fring looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Barnes wants to stand but Fring has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Fring escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Barnes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Fring is on top in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fring in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Fring is working Barnes over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Fring trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fring throws a strike but Barnes rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Barnes is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Fring manages to escape and get back to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fring is defended easily by Barnes.
Fring shoots in looking for a takedown. Barnes tries to sprawl out of it but Fring keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Barnes manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fring blocks a head kick by Barnes.
Barnes misses with a straight left.
Barnes throws a solid leg kick but Fring takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Barnes.
Fring tries to clinch but Barnes moves away
and Barnes makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Fring blocks a head kick by Barnes.
We've been told by Barnes's head coaches at Qube Striking that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Barnes dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Fring. That did some damage!

Fring changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Barnes looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Barnes is looking to regain half guard here but Fring keeps moving and retains side control.

Fring is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Barnes is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Fring thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Fring goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Barnes rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Fring's guard! Nice work there by Barnes!

Fring working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Barnes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Barnes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Barnes decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Fring, up you get!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Fring shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Barnes manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barnes bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fring's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gustavo Fring dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Fring closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Fring is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Fring with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Barnes lands with a light punch inside.
Barnes prevents the takedown attempt.
Fring wants a takedown.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Barnes creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.


It looks like Gustavo Fring has been cut.
Barnes gets underhooks to prevent Fring's takedown attempt.
Clifton Barnes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gustavo Fring.
Fring goes for a takedown in the clinch but Barnes prevents it.
Fring is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Fring wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Barnes has him pressed against the cage.
Fring has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Barnes after a bit of a struggle.

Fring is breathing heavily.
Barnes throws an elbow but it misses.
Barnes looking to slow down the pace here.

Fring has Barnes pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Barnes manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Nice body punch from Barnes - that landed with a thud.
Fring jumps guard but Barnes turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Barnes wants to stall.
Fring is looking to take this one to the mat.
Barnes lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Fring backwards.
Fring looking for a takedown.
Barnes's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Fring fails to pull guard.

Barnes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A good leg kick by Barnes.
Fring dives in and grabs Barnes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Barnes pushes down on Fring's head and hops out.
Barnes attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Barnes lands with a cross.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Barnes circles away from the clinch attempt.
Fring darts in trying to clinch
and Barnes counters with a right hand to the body.
Clifton Barnes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Barnes connects with a solid leg kick.
Barnes cracks the inside of Fring's front leg.
Barnes fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Fring.

Barnes feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Fring sprawling to the canvas! Fring rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Barnes finish him?!


Fring is rocked!
Barnes lands a jab to Fring's midsection.
Fring is still on wobbly legs! Can Barnes finish him?
Barnes pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Barnes cracks Fring with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Fring tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Barnes pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Fring is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Clifton Barnes!
Clifton Barnes took some time post fight to say the following; 'Fring called me out so I had to oblige him again with another beat down. Sorry I had to make you have two losses in a row bro but had to make an example that 'Bones' is back and going for a title shot.'.
