Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akim Lamouna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lamouna has chosen chrissy zebby - my ancestors as his entrance music. Akim Lamouna is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Smith was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Smith trying to control the action but Lamouna is working from the bottom.

Smith has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Lamouna swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lamouna swings for the body but Smith moves out of range.
Lamouna looks to score with a jab to the body but Smith is just out of range.
Lamouna tries to clinch but Smith moves out of range.
Smith avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Smith scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Lamouna is trying to control Smith's posture but Smith avoids it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lamouna manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Smith landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Smith wants to work for an arm triangle but Lamouna is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Smith looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Lamouna looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Smith keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Smith has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Lamouna looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Smith connects with a nice short shot to Lamouna's temple.

Lamouna is looking to control Smith's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lamouna avoid being mounted?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lamouna might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Smith haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Smith missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Lamouna manages to get to full guard.

Lamouna looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Smith is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Lamouna is looking to cinch up a triangle. Smith throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Lamouna's body to avoid the submission. Lamouna has instead reached around Smith's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Lamouna arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
