The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez missing with a left hand there. Lucero was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Velasquez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lucero.

Velasquez dives in and scores a takedown into Lucero's guard.
Velasquez passes into half guard.

Velasquez decides to stand up.
Velasquez tries for a takedown but Lucero sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Velasquez shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lucero napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Lucero wants to get back to his feet but Velasquez is dominant here and he's now got Lucero's back!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Velasquez sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Lucero taps out!
