The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joseph fakes high and swings low for a body shot but RockLodge manages to avoid it.
Joseph fails with the takedown
and RockLodge counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Joseph controls RockLodge momentarily but RockLodge frees himself.
RockLodge wants to stand but Joseph has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

RockLodge is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Joseph is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Joseph wants to control but RockLodge postures up.
RockLodge remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

RockLodge is stalling here. Joseph is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! RockLodge seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Joseph has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Joseph tries to move to mount but RockLodge blocks the move with his legs.
Joseph is staying tight to RockLodge's torso, preventing him from escaping.
RockLodge tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Joseph presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Joseph cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Joseph throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for RockLodge because Joseph loaded up on that one.

RockLodge tries to hold on but Joseph pushes him away.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sydney Joseph will probably get the nod.

Joseph shoots in for a takedown but RockLodge shows good takedown defense.
RockLodge throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Joseph was covering up waiting for the punch and RockLodge finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Joseph is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and RockLodge defends well.

You get the feeling that Joseph really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Joseph wants to control but RockLodge is having none of it.

RockLodge quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Joseph has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast!
