PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Argo Lohk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ben Silva told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lohk shoots in and drives through. Silva sprawls well.
Nice sprawl there from Silva as Lohk shoots in.
Lohk avoids the head kick by Silva.

Lohk shoots in and bounces Silva off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Lohk postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Silva is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lohk, into his guard.
Silva is looking to stand up but Lohk won't let him.
Lohk manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Silva manages to get himself to full guard.

Lohk trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Lohk pushes down on Silva's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Lohk misses with a head shot. Silva uses the momentum to regain guard.

Lohk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lohk is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Silva utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Lohk has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lohk slips nicely into half guard.
Lohk passes to full mount!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Lohk looking to control but Silva is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lohk. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lohk forces the positional change into back control.
You can see the frustration on Silva's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Lohk tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Silva paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Silva throws a head kick but Lohk moves out of range.
Lohk shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Silva pinned against the cage. Silva gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Lohk misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lohk blocks a head kick by Silva.
Silva thuds his shin into the meat of Lohk's side.

Lohk bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lohk tries for a kimura but Silva is defending well.
Silva wants to get back to his feet.
Lohk is looking to take a break and control but Silva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Lohk works to advance to full mount. Silva defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
