Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Oskar De La Hoya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Larry OConner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Larry OConner struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.2lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De La Hoya misses with a wild combination.
De La Hoya tries to bum rush OConner with a series of wild strikes but OConner uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
De La Hoya fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt OConner.
De La Hoya misses with a straight left.
De La Hoya shoots in but OConner avoids the takedown attempt easily.
OConner tries to clinch but De La Hoya moves away
and De La Hoya counters with a left to the body.
OConner doesn't manage to clinch there - De La Hoya circles away.

De La Hoya dives in and scores a takedown into OConner's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
