Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cru Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eder Albuquerque (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cru Jones has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cru Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eder Albuquerque!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones shoots in and drives through. Albuquerque sprawls well.
Jones misses with a series of wild punches.
Jones throws out a powerful jab.
Albuquerque shoots in but no luck this time.
Albuquerque throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Albuquerque lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Albuquerque shoots for a takedown but Jones saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jones lands a with a good body shot.

Jones has managed to clinch.
Albuquerque can't get the takedown.
Cru Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eder Albuquerque.
Jones misses with an elbow over the top.
Albuquerque prevents the takedown attempt.
Jones is breathing heavily.
Albuquerque fails to pull guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jones stalling against the cage.
Albuquerque jumps guard but Jones stands there with Albuquerque around his waist. Albuquerque gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Jones ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jones no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Jones has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Albuquerque can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones has control of Albuquerque's left arm, preventing Albuquerque from doing any damage.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Albuquerque trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Albuquerque drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Albuquerque jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Albuquerque fails with an attempt to clinch.
Albuquerque fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jones manages to avoid it.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Albuquerque.
Jones is pushing Albuquerque's head away, looking to escape. Albuquerque manages to hold on to the position though.
Jones gets back to half guard.
Jones trying to control but Albuquerque postures up.
Albuquerque frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Jones is wriggling around trying to escape.

Albuquerque is working for a guillotine from mount but Jones frees his head quite easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones regains half guard.

The fighters are battling for position here. Jones manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Albuquerque stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Albuquerque drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jones manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Albuquerque has Jones in his guard.

Jones thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Albuquerque has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though.

Jones gets to his feet - Albuquerque follows without any prompting.

Jones clinches.

Jones manages to break the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Jones moves into the clinch.
Albuquerque fails to pull guard.
Albuquerque goes for a takedown in the clinch but Jones prevents it.

Jones successfully pulls guard.

Jones has his foot on Albuquerque's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Albuquerque works his way back into a safe position though.

Jones pushes Albuquerque off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Albuquerque misses with a takedown
and Jones counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Jones decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Albuquerque gets full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones lands a couple of elbows.

Jones stands up from Albuquerque's guard - Jones perhaps looking for a knockout.
Some wild striking there from Jones.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Albuquerque looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Albuquerque seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jones does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Jones has one foot on Albuquerque's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Albuquerque misses with a body shot.

Albuquerque tries to keep at a distance but Jones has taken the fight into the clinch.
Albuquerque is trying to drag Jones to the mat but Jones just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Jones lands a right hand.
Jones gets through Albuquerque's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jones breaks the clinch.
Jones lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Albuquerque gets caught flat footed, as Jones shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Jones thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Jones stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Jones swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Albuquerque tries to clinch

Cru Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jones is looking for a kimura but Albuquerque is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jones to get the leverage.

Jones shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Albuquerque's guard.
Jones keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Albuquerque's head.

Albuquerque escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Albuquerque tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Jones thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Albuquerque is trying to control the position but Jones postures up.
Jones trying to control but Albuquerque is working from the bottom.
Jones has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Albuquerque is proving hard to escape from.
Albuquerque manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Albuquerque wants to finish this one by submission but Jones is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Albuquerque.

Albuquerque is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Albuquerque jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Jones manages to avoid the submission attempt.

You can see the frustration on Jones's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones sneaks back into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Jones decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Jones stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Albuquerque to get to his feet.

Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Albuquerque tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Albuquerque manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
