Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Clifton Parks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ben Ashton!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parks tries to clinch but Ashton moves out of range.
Ashton lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Parks gets caught flat footed, as Ashton shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Ashton trying to control but Parks is working from the bottom.
Ashton throws an elbow that misses. Parks uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ashton's guard. Nice move by Parks!
Parks wants to stand but Ashton has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Ashton is trying to control the position but Parks postures up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ben Ashton hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Nice takedown defense from Parks. No joy for Ashton on that attempt.
Ashton shoots in looking for a takedown. Parks tries to sprawl out of it but Ashton keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Parks manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ashton.
Clifton Parks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Ashton.
Ashton stuffs the takedown attempt from Parks. Parks gets slowly back to his feet.
Ashton slaps away a takedown attempt from Parks, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Ashton bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Parks is breathing heavily.
Ashton wants to stand but Parks has his arm trapped.

Ashton passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Parks!
A nice elbow there by Ashton.
Ashton lands a big elbow.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Parks sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Ashton is keen to just control but Parks is a slippery customer.
Ashton is stalling here. Parks is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Ashton seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Parks has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
A lull in the action here as Parks stalls from top position.

Parks working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Ashton is trying to get back to half guard.
Parks fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Ashton is looking for a sweep.
Ashton strikes from the bottom but Parks takes advantage and advances to full mount!

Parks sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Parks thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Ashton keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ashton tries to lock up and control but Parks gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ashton can't escape the position.
Parks throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.

Parks is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Ashton can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ben Ashton dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Ashton lands with a nice body kick.
Ashton fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Ashton takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Ashton attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Ashton shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Parks sprawls well. Parks wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ashton gets slowly back to his feet.

Ashton gets a clinch.
Ashton can't get the takedown.
Clifton Parks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Ashton.

Ashton manages to pull guard.

Ashton looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Parks stops Ashton from standing up.
Ashton is breathing heavily.
Parks working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Clifton Parks wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Parks has a takedown stuffed.
Parks circles away from the clinch attempt.
Parks shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ashton defends it nicely.
Ashton goes for a double leg but Parks avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Parks continues to drive forward.
Ashton stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Ashton tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Parks just stands there and leans against the cage.
Ashton looking to stall.
Ashton wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Parks lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Parks blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Parks manages to break the clinch.
Ashton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Parks tries to avoid it but Ashton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Parks to the ground. Parks escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ashton darts in looking for a takedown but Parks gets double underhooks and turns Ashton into the cage.
Parks wants to take the fight to the mat but Ashton manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Parks escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ashton blocks a head kick by Parks.
Ashton tries to clinch but Parks is having none of it.
Ashton throws a body punch but Parks moves out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Parks is defended easily by Ashton.
Ashton tries to close the distance and clinch but Parks swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Parks closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ashton circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ben Ashton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Ashton shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Parks as he avoids it easily.
Parks tries to close the distance and clinch but Ashton swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ashton stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ashton wants it to stay on the feet.

Ashton throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Parks was covering up waiting for the punch and Ashton finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Ben Ashton has got the better of the ground game so far.
Ashton tries to stand but Parks is controlling from the bottom.
Parks keeping full guard, as Ashton tries to pass.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Parks keeping moving, preventing Ashton from controlling successfully.

Ashton postures up in Parks's guard and throws a big left but Parks blocks it.
Ashton controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Ashton wants to control from the top but Parks keeps moving.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ben Ashton wasn't active enough on the ground.
Ashton doesn't manage to clinch there - Parks circles away.
Parks pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Parks blocks a head kick by Ashton.
Parks tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ashton paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Ashton is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Ashton uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Parks.
Parks slaps away a takedown attempt from Ashton, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Clifton Parks is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Parks moves into the clinch.
Ashton tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Parks avoids it.
Ashton is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Parks to keep the fight standing.
Clifton Parks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Ashton.

Ashton jumps guard but Parks turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Ashton jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Parks walks away with a smile on his face. Ashton gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Ashton manages to break the clinch.
Ashton throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Parks stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Parks tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ashton defends well and Parks ends up having to push Ashton into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Parks jumps guard and drags Ashton to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ashton's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Ben Ashton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ashton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
