And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Huff fails with an attempt to clinch.
Safej misses with a head kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Huff is defended easily by Safej.

Huff is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Safej's half guard.
Huff is keen to just control but Safej is a slippery customer.

Huff takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Hipolito Huff wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Horrible takedown by Huff or perhaps it was just good defense by Safej which made him look bad.

Huff shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Safej napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Huff wants to stand but Safej has his arm trapped.
Safej tries to escape but Huff is in control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Hipolito Huff.
Huff looks to land a combination. Safej sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Huff shoots in looking for a takedown. Safej tries to sprawl out of it but Huff keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Safej manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Safej goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Safej tries a head kick but it misses.
Huff looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Huff misses with a body punch
and Safej counters with a flying knee. Nice.

Huff closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Huff tries to stand but Safej is controlling his head.
Safej takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Safej seems a little lost for a moment, as Huff dominates the positioning.
Huff landing strikes.
Huff just content to control the position.
Safej is not content to let Huff control the position.

Huff has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Safej uses from the top position.
