Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Roger Cantor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuki Takano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roger Cantor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yuki Takano!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takano connects with a body shot.
Takano misses the shot to the body.
Cantor swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Takano staying out of range there.
Takano misses with a hook. Cantor ducked under it nicely.
Cantor throws a right and a left that Takano avoids nicely.
Takano scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Nice shot lands for Takano.
Cantor connects with a body shot.
Cantor pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Takano thuds his right hand into Cantor's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Takano rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Cantor counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Cantor ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Takano moves away.
Cantor fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Takano scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Cantor doesn't seem bothered though.
Cantor takes one to the side of the head.
Takano throws a big shot that misses.

Cantor fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Takano sprawls well initially but Cantor persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Still in half guard, Cantor seems content to control.
Cantor working over Takano with some ground and pound. Takano looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Cantor wants to pass the guard but Takano is defending well.
Takano looks like he's trying to stand up.

Takano has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cantor is working away from the top position though.

Cantor thows a huge punch but Takano dodges it nicely.
Cantor wants to free his trapped foot but Takano is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Cantor is trying to control the action in half guard but Takano is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Cantor wants to pass to mount but Takano is defending the position.
Cantor missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
We've been informed that Takano has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Cantor slows the pace down in half guard.
Cantor thows a huge punch but Takano dodges it nicely.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cantor content to control rather than advance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Yuki Takano will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Cantor pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Takano just misses with a punch to the body.
Cantor keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cantor fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Takano is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cantor.
Cantor shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Takano pinned against the cage. Takano gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Cantor takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Takano slaps away a takedown attempt from Cantor, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roger Cantor. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Takano tests Cantor's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Cantor closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Takano to the mat! Takano manages to get full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Takano looking for a sweep. Not yet Takano, not yet.
Takano utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Cantor is in close to Takano's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Cantor loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cantor accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Cantor throws a big elbow that misses.
Cantor looking to sit in guard and control but Takano gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cantor has his foot on Takano's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Takano works his way back into a safe position though.

Cantor seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Cantor escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Takano gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Cantor is looking for a triangle but Takano pushes his legs off easily.

Cantor has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Takano can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Cantor on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cantor tries to get out of the position.

Cantor isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Takano stacks Cantor on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Takano!

Cantor is looking for a sweep.
You can see the frustration on Cantor's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Cantor manages to work his way to half guard, despite Takano's best efforts.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Roger Cantor will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Horrible takedown by Cantor or perhaps it was just good defense by Takano which made him look bad.
Takano scores with a sloppy right hand. Cantor should have avoided that one.

Cantor trying to control the action but Takano is working from the bottom.
Cantor has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cantor fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Cantor is trying to ground and pound but Takano uses the momentary lack of control by Cantor to regain half guard.
Takano is looking to improve his position.

Takano looks like he's trying to stand up.
Cantor wants to control but Takano is keeping him busy.
Takano has hold of Cantor's hands but Cantor slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Cantor is trying to control. Takano wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Cantor tries to pass to full mount but Takano defends it.
Cantor is working hard here to advance position.
Cantor seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Takano does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Takano really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cantor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Cantor works his foot free and advances to mount.

A nice elbow there by Cantor.

Cantor misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Cantor is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Cantor thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Takano is looking to improve his position but Cantor isn't that keen on the idea.

Roger Cantor showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Cantor has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
