The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Xavan tries for a takedown but Cervantes circles away easily

and Cervantes counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Xavan's guard now.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Cervantes postures up and lands a big shot to Xavan's brow.
Cervantes connects with a couple of short punches.
Cervantes seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Xavan working a defensive guard but Cervantes manages to pass into side control anyway.

Xavan tries to buck Cervantes off but Cervantes is having none of it.
Cervantes tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Cervantes just content to control the position.
Xavan tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Xavan is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Cervantes locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Xavan is forced to tap!
