Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ivan Abbott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mendy Ripstein!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Eliza Hachem and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ripstein dives in and scores a takedown into Abbott's guard.
Abbott controls Ripstein momentarily but Ripstein frees himself.
Ripstein prevents Abbott from getting back to his feet.
Ripstein sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Abbott striking off his back but it's not causing Ripstein any problems.
Abbott is looking to sweep but instead, Ripstein has passed into half guard.
Abbott is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ripstein seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Abbott does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Ripstein is thwarting Abbott's attempts to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ripstein is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Abbott defends it well.
Abbott is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ripstein's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ripstein's back!
Ripstein looks winded!
Ripstein is keeping busy.
Ripstein really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Abbott. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Abbott has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Ripstein is defending well but eventually Abbott manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Ripstein has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
