Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Barrett Hanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Angel Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Barrett Hanson has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Barrett Hanson seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Angel Velasquez!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Sam Margolis and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Velasquez misses.
Velasquez shoots in for a takedown but Hanson shows good takedown defense.
Velasquez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hanson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Velasquez shoots for a double leg takedown but Hanson sprawls well. He's pushed Velasquez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Barrett Hanson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Angel Velasquez.

Velasquez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hanson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Hanson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Velasquez avoids it really well and circles away.

Hanson misses with a takedown attempt - Velasquez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Velasquez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Velasquez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hanson is fending him off so far but Velasquez persists. Nope, Hanson circles away and we're back to standing.
Velasquez should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Horrible takedown by Velasquez or perhaps it was just good defense by Hanson which made him look bad.

Velasquez tries to close the distance and clinch but Hanson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Hanson goes for a double leg but Velasquez avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Velasquez continues to drive forward.

Velasquez ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Velasquez no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Angel Velasquez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hanson enables Velasquez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hanson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Angel Velasquez is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Velasquez is trying to drag Hanson to the mat but Hanson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Barrett Hanson.
I think Velasquez has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
