Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darius Chan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ubina Srba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Srba has chosen Arif Vlladi - Marshi i UCK as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Darius Chan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ubina Srba!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chan fails with a takedown attempt.
Srba is looking to clinch but Chan is avoiding it.
Chan shoots in looking for a takedown but Srba manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Chan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Chan is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Chan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Srba can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Srba wanted to stand there but Chan had control of the position.

Srba drops back, looking for a kneebar! Chan looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Chan looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Chan!

Chan decides to stand up, so the ref orders Srba to his feet.
No luck for Chan with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darius Chan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Chan circles away from the clinch attempt.

Chan pushes Srba up against the cage in a clinch.
A knee to the head by Srba.


It looks like Darius Chan has been cut.
Chan tries to break free but Srba pushes him back against the cage.
Chan scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Srba is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Chan to keep the fight standing.

Srba breaks the clinch.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Chan checks a leg kick.
Srba shoots for a double leg takedown but Chan sprawls well. He's pushed Srba's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Chan takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Chan is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Srba has managed to free his arm - good work.

Chan is working for a kimura here but Srba manages to reverse the position and he's now in Chan's guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Chan holds on and takes a little breather.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Srba looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Chan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Chan lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Srba backs up against the cage.


It looks like Ubina Srba has been cut.
Srba looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Chan is fending him off so far but Srba persists. Nope, Chan circles away and we're back to standing.
Chan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Chan wants it to stay on the feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Srba is pressed up against the cage. Chan has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Srba down to the mat. Srba avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Srba is breathing heavily.
Chan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Srba as he jumps to the side.

Chan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Srba is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Chan pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Srba makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Srba keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Chan's efforts to push away.
Srba tries to stall but Chan uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Chan breaks from the clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Chan is defended easily by Srba.
Ubina Srba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Chan closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Chan managing to block the knees to the body from Srba.
Srba throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Chan blocks it with crossed arms.

Chan jumps into guard, dragging Srba to the mat.

Chan seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Srba trying to control the position from guard on top but Chan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Srba is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Chan thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Chan has his feet on Srba's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Chan drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Srba jumps guard but Chan turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Srba tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Chan smiles and moves away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Srba gets tackled into the cage by Chan. Chan maintains the clinch.
Chan is looking to break free of the clinch but Srba has double underhooks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Darius Chan dominated that second round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Srba leaves Chan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Srba tries to clinch but Chan moves out of range.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Chan.

Srba gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Chan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Srba wants to get up but he can't break Chan's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Srba drops back looking for a leg! Chan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Chan manages to kick Srba off! Srba jumps back into Chan's guard.
Chan throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Srba is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Chan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Chan has escaped and now he's on top!
Chan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Srba on the ground.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Chan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Chan gets to his feet. Srba looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Srba looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Srba has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Chan uses from the top position.
Srba looking to hit a scissor sweep but Chan is one step ahead there.

Srba has his foot on Chan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chan works his way back into a safe position though.
Darius Chan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Chan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Chan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Ubina Srba has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Chan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Srba works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Darius Chan just wasn't active enough.
Srba shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Chan defends it nicely.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Srba wants to clinch but Chan slips to the side
and Chan counters with a straight right hand.

Chan moves into the clinch.
Darius Chan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Chan tries to pull guard but Srba won't allow it.
Srba lands an elbow inside.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Darius Chan.
Well Chan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
