PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Bosley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Liddel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liddel has chosen Campeão, Vencedor as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Frank Liddel is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Bosley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank Liddel!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liddel fails with the takedown.
Frank Liddel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Liddel shoots in but Bosley avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Liddel shoots for a double leg takedown but Bosley sprawls well. He's pushed Liddel's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Tom Bosley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Liddel.
Bosley throws a combination. Liddel tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like Frank Liddel has been cut.

Liddel fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Bosley to the ground. Liddel is now in Bosley's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Liddel throws a big elbow that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bosley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Liddel manages to get himself to full guard.

Bosley controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Bosley would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Tom Bosley wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Liddel tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bosley defends well and Liddel ends up having to push Bosley into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Bosley is trying to force a seperation but Liddel has the dominant position.
Liddel throws a head punch that misses.

Bosley is looking to take a break and control but Liddel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bosley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Bosley seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Bosley decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Liddel, up you get!
Liddel shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bosley sprawls well. Bosley wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Liddel gets slowly back to his feet.

Bosley looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Liddel!
Bosley postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Bosley prevents Liddel from escaping the position.

Liddel sneaks out the side door and pushes Bosley away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Horrible takedown by Liddel or perhaps it was just good defense by Bosley which made him look bad.

Bosley shoots in and gets a takedown into Liddel's guard.
Liddel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bosley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Liddel looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bosley is fending him off so far but Liddel persists. Nope, Bosley circles away and we're back to standing.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bosley throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Liddel tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bosley is in Liddel's guard.

Bosley feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bosley utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Tom Bosley is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bosley, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
